Local Chapter and Local Workforce Training Series Team Up To Address Immediate Workforce Training Need
The American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) and its affiliated local chapter, Hudson-Mohawk, has endorsed and will sponsor the recently launched Workforce Training Series of Albany workshops. Designed to be practical and affordable training workshops in the Capital Region, The New Directions Group, in collaboration with Braathe Enterprises and Manfred Real Estate Learning Center, developed the Workforce Training Series of Albany to address the growing need for strategic staff and managerial development.
Last month Gallup polling released that 7 out of 10 employees hate their job. The CEO of Gallup, Jim Clifton, indicated that 70% of American workers are disengaged at work as a direct result of poor management and leadership. The Workforce Training Series of Albany is a response to the growing need for strategic staff development in order to position the Capital Region as a workforce engine for the future and retain the talent the area has today.
The Hudson-Mohawk Chapter of the American Society for Training & Development helps Capital Area employers and individuals develop knowledge and skills for successful professional and organizational growth. Anyone who is involved with workplace learning and performance can find networking opportunities through the local chapter, as well as resources in employee development, leadership, organizational change, talent management & career planning training.
“What we’re seeing is a great need to gather resources and cross-collaborate in order to build up the talent in the Capital Area,” says Rue Heron, President of the local chapter. “Our sponsorship and collaboration with the Workforce Training Series of Albany seemed like a great opportunity for the Hudson-Mohawk Chapter of the American Society for Training & Development to fulfill our promise of providing the area with the very best in employee growth and retention. We support and endorse the efforts made by the WTS of Albany and look forward to four great workshops that address the immediate ‘soft skill’ needs of the area.”
