WTS Focuses Second Workshop on Employee Fundamentals
The Workforce Training Series will be holding the second of four scheduled workshops on May 10th at the Mount Anthony Country Club. The second workshop titled, Employee Fundamentals: The Skills for Exceptional Employees, will be presented by Lisa Dunbar of New Directions and will focus on helping employees discover better ways to become more value-added to their employers and organizations. The workshop on Friday, May 10th is a full-day workshop starting at 8:30am and going until 4pm.
The Workforce Training Series is a response to the growing need for strategic staff development in order to position the Bennington area as a workforce engine for the future. Designed to bring state-of-the-art training seminars to the local area for 2013, New Directions Consulting developed its Workforce Training Series using input and guidance from the Town of Bennington’s Office of Economic and Community Development and local employers as a way to facilitate community engagement.
“Maybe you just got hired, maybe you’ve been on the job for a year or two, or maybe you’ve been around a bit, but you’re looking for that extra push to make your work shine. This workshop goes over employee fundamentals, and how building better relationships, clarifying expectations, managing priorities and enhancing workplace etiquette can make you the star employee,” explains Dunbar.
“No one wants to be the weak link, especially when you’re in this new economy hustling every day to show why you were hired” says Dunbar, “which is why knowing fundamentals such as time management, communication, and learning how to give and receive feedback are so important. These skills help your co-workers see you as an asset to the workplace.”
The cost for the full-day workshop is $150 and reservations can be made at www.newdirectionsconsulting.com, by calling 800.730.3631, or payments can be made at the door.
The Workforce Training Series continues throughout the year providing world-class training at a reasonable price with a workshop on September 6, 2013 titled Workforce Communication Skills: A Crash Course in Getting Along with Others in the Business World. The last session to be held will be on November 1, 2013 and will be a more advanced workshop, Dynamic Supervisors 2: Taking Your Management Skills to the Next Level. All sessions will be held at Mt. Anthony Country Club where coffee and water will be available.
